Commercial Financial Analyst

Salary: Up to £60,000

Location: North Herts

Working Pattern: 4 days in office

An established business is looking for a Financial Analyst to join its finance function, providing analysis and insight to support financial planning and business performance.

This is a commercially focused role covering budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial modelling, alongside significant involvement in developing reporting systems and improving how financial data is used across the business.

You’ll work with stakeholders across Finance, Operations and other business areas, helping turn financial and operational data into meaningful insight and supporting better decision-making.

The Role

  • Analysing monthly financial performance, trends and key business metrics
  • Supporting scenario modelling and longer-term financial planning
  • Analysing profitability, costs, capital expenditure and other commercial drivers
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities and communicating findings to stakeholders
  • Supporting the development and implementation of new planning and reporting systems
  • Improving budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes
  • Supporting data migration, validation and testing as part of wider systems projects
  • Supporting cross-company and intercompany reporting and analysis
  • Identifying opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual processes
  • Supporting wider finance transformation and ad hoc commercial projects

About You

  • Experience within Financial Analysis, FP&A, Management Accounting or a similar commercially focused finance role
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience
  • Confident building and maintaining financial models
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP, budgeting or financial planning systems would be beneficial
  • Systems implementation or finance transformation exposure would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Commercial mindset with an interest in understanding the drivers behind business performance
