Finance Assistant
Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to provide day-to-day support across a busy finance function. Working closely with the wider finance team, you will assist with transactional finance activities, month-end processes, reconciliations, and reporting.
This is a varied role offering exposure to multiple areas of finance, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience within a supportive and growing business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process sales and purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Match invoices and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding queries
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations
- Manage finance-related queries and liaise with stakeholders across the business
- Support the setup and maintenance of customer and supplier records
- Process employee expenses and company card transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure correct coding of transactions
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and wider finance projects
- Provide support to colleagues across the finance team as required
- Contribute to month-end activities and reporting processes

Requirements

- Previous experience within a transactional finance or accounts role
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
- AAT qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification would be advantageous
- Experience using finance or ERP systems is beneficial
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a broad finance position
