Finance Assistant | Part-Qualified

Are you building your career in finance and currently working towards an accounting qualification?

We are partnering with an established and growing financial services business in Liverpool to recruit a Finance Assistant to join its commercial Finance team.

This is not an entry-level finance role. We are looking for someone who already has good practical experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar position and is now looking for greater exposure, responsibility and development.

You may be studying towards ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT or another recognised accounting qualification. The specific qualification is less important than your experience, capability and ambition to progress.

The role

Working closely with senior members of the Finance team, you will support a broad range of commercial finance activity including:

  • Bank, payment, invoice and ledger reconciliations
  • Supplier payment runs and stakeholder payments
  • Employee expenses and financial controls
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial data
  • Supporting monthly reporting and management information
  • Assisting with budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Investigating discrepancies and resolving financial queries
  • Producing spreadsheets, reports and analysis using Excel
  • Supporting wider finance, treasury and operational projects as required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
