Finance Assistant – Part-Time
Location: Liverpool Street, London
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Working Hours: Part-time
We are partnering with a specialist technical recruitment consultancy operating within the offshore energy, renewables, and marine sectors. The business works with a wide network of established clients and highly skilled technical professionals, supporting organizations operating across a specialist and constantly evolving area of the energy market.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant who wants to join a smaller, established business and gain exposure beyond traditional transactional finance. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function while gaining valuable exposure to areas of management accounting and wider commercial finance.

The role would suit someone who is reliable, methodical, and highly detail-oriented, with previous experience in an accounts or finance administration position. You will have responsibility for handling important financial information, ensuring invoices and freelancer payments are accurate, and identifying and resolving discrepancies before they become issues.

Key Responsibilities
- Client Invoicing: Manually raise client invoices based on timesheets, days worked, and chargeable expenses, ensuring all information is accurate and fully supported before invoices are issued.
- Accounts Payable & Freelancer Payments: Process freelancer timesheets and associated expenses, checking billing information against client portals and internal records to ensure payments are accurate and complete ahead of payment runs.
- Timesheet & Data Reconciliation: Review timesheet and expense data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure any missing or incorrect information is resolved promptly with the relevant stakeholders.
- Bank Detail Verification: Complete appropriate checks on bank details for new freelancers before their first payment and periodically review existing freelancer details to maintain accurate payment records.
- Credit Card Reconciliations: Complete monthly reconciliations for company American Express and credit card accounts, investigating discrepancies and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded.
- Wider Finance Support: Assist the Finance Manager and Finance Director across the wider finance function, providing exposure to management accounting activities and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day financial processes.
