Finance Assistant
Hours: 20 hours per week
Office: Hybrid arrangement following successful completion of probation
Reporting to: Finance Director
Salary: £30,000 to 35,000 (FTE equivalent) based on experience
The Opportunity
The Opportunity to join and grow your career with a globally scaling group, focused on specialist recruitment services in the UK and US. The successful candidate will support the accounts function and wider group with a broad set of responsibilities. Finance is viewed as a partner to the business and its operations, not just a score keeper.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for transactional processing and reporting across the US and UK, Cash, AP, and AR ledgers.
- Raising sales invoices with careful attention to value drivers and VAT/sales tax.
- Credit control organization and management.
- Administering client trading agreements and database of headline commercial terms.
- Review, challenge, and processing of supplier invoices and maintaining accounts payable.
- Weekly bank/cash reconciliations.
- Support management and statutory accounts completion processes, as well as tax advisor liaison.

Key Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounts payable and receivable in a SME environment.
- Must be a proficient user of Xero accounting software.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Enjoys building relationships and has effective and professional communication skills to collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- A good understanding of the workings of financial statements.
- Comfortable to work in a changing and enhancing environment and able to make process and control improvement suggestions.

Background
- At least 5 years finance assistant/junior experience
- At least 2 years hands-on Xero experience
- Able to attend our London Bridge office at least once a week following probation period (full-time office attendance will be mandatory during probation)
Nice to Haves
- Part or fully qualified accountancy qualification.
- Experience gained in a multi-currency operating environment.
- Previous role in a recruitment/professional services business.
