Finance Assistant
Location: Exeter (Hybrid)
Salary: £25,000 (35 hour week)
18 Month Fixed Term Contract
Also suitable for candidates with experience as a Finance Administrator, Sales Ledger Clerk, or Purchase Ledger Clerk.

The Role
We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join a busy and friendly finance team. This is a varied transactional position where you'll play an important role in ensuring customer payments are processed accurately, supplier payments are made on time, and financial records are maintained.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll support members and suppliers with payment queries while helping to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day finance function.

What You'll Be Doing
- Processing direct debit mandates and scheduled payment runs.
- Posting credit card, cheque, and standing order receipts accurately.
- Processing customer refunds in a timely manner.
- Supporting BACS payments.
- Processing payments to suppliers.
- Responding to customer and supplier payment queries professionally and efficiently.
- Issuing arrears and supplier debt chasing correspondence.
- Supporting the Finance Manager with the smooth running of daily finance operations.
What We're Looking For
You'll be someone who enjoys working with numbers and has excellent organizational skills. You will have some experience in an administrative finance role in accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales ledger, purchase ledger, or another transactional finance role.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or administration role.
- Experience within sales ledger, purchase ledger, accounts payable, or accounts receivable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
