Role: Finance Assistant – progress to Production Accountant
Sector: Content Production Agency
Permanent: Full Time (1 day WFH)
Location: Kings Cross, London
Salary: £30K-£35K

VisionFR is recruiting a Progressive Finance Assistant on behalf of a growing content production agency. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the earlier stages of their finance career who is looking to build their experience within a fast-paced, creative environment and develop towards a more project-focused accounting role.
Working closely with the Finance Director and wider production team, the Finance Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the UK finance function, with a particular focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transactional accounting. The role offers plenty of exposure across the business and a clear opportunity to progress towards a Production / Project Accountant position.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:
Accounts Payable
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and promptly, ensuring costs are correctly allocated to projects
- Preparing payment runs and ensuring suppliers are paid within agreed timescales
- Processing payments across different banking platforms and currencies
- Processing and reconciling company credit card transactions
- Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries
- Supporting accurate maintenance of the purchase ledger
Accounts Receivable
- Allocating incoming client payments against invoices
- Monitoring outstanding balances and highlighting payment issues or shortfalls
- Liaising with the Finance Director and production teams regarding client payments
- Supporting the maintenance of accurate receivables records

Intercompany & Reconciliations
- Processing intercompany payments and recharges
- Working with overseas finance colleagues to ensure transactions are correctly recorded between entities
- Supporting the accurate allocation of costs and payments to the appropriate projects
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
Other Responsibilities
- Working closely with the production team to ensure finance processes support the smooth delivery of projects
- Supporting the Finance Director with day-to-day finance requirements
- Helping identify opportunities to improve and streamline finance processes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial information
- Developing a strong understanding of project finance with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the role progresses
Key Skills and Requirements of the Finance Assistant:
- Some previous experience within an accounts or finance role, ideally with exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
- Experience of working in finance within an events, production, creative, design, marketing, branding, or advertising environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident building relationships with suppliers, colleagues, and other departments
- Strong attention to detail and a diligent approach to financial processing
- Self-motivated, proactive, and keen to learn
- Able to prioritize workload and work effectively to deadlines
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment where priorities can change
- Good systems skills, with experience of QuickBooks advantageous
- Confident using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- An interest in developing a longer-term career within project or production accounting
