Finance Assistant

Salary £30,000-31,000 per annum + study support (if desired)
Our client is an organisation with a 100 year history of positive impact across the UK. Due to organisational growth, they’re looking to add a dedicated, career focused Finance Assistant to their team.
Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller and Finance Director, this individual will enjoy a varied role looking after 2 companies within the group. Full training and induction will be given, alongside the opportunity for future role development and progression. My client is keen to meet individuals looking to prove themselves and progress, with the energy and drive to do so.
My client is happy to offer study support for those studying towards a professional accountancy qualification. This includes allowing time off for weekly study / classroom learning and sitting exams. They have a focus on staff engagement and motivation across the business, as shown in their Gold Award for Investors in People.

At present, the role will be an on-site position. However, there is the opportunity for hybrid working once ‘up and running’ so this arrangement will not be indefinite.
Duties:
- Ensure account receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely
- Ensure that financial transactions are accurate
- Be responsible for the accurate processing of authorised expense claims, direct debit payments, credit card statements and petty cash requests
- Preparation of balance sheets reconciliations including bank reconciliations
- Provide support to internal Account Handlers and Customer Service Team by answering enquiries relating to financial transactions
- Assistance with new system implementation
- Ad hoc duties as requested by the Assistant Financial Controller

The ideal candidate will:
- Having existing experience of working within an accounts department
- Experience of using computerised accounting systems and MS Office
- Understanding of bookkeeping / accounting concepts
- Be highly accurate with attention to detail
- Be pro-active and driven with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
