IST Power Ltd – Finance Assistant

Location:
64/66 Percy Road, Leicester, LE2 8FN
Department: Finance

Introduction

iST Power is looking for an organised and dependable Finance Assistant to play a key role in keeping our finance and administration processes running smoothly. This is a varied, hands-on position supporting a broad range of finance activities, with occasional support for purchasing, ledger processes and general office management duties as required. It would suit someone who enjoys detail, takes pride in getting things right, and wants to contribute to a busy manufacturing business where accurate information matters every day.

Role Overview

Working closely with the Finance Manager and colleagues across the business, you will help keep financial and business records accurate, complete and processed on time. You will be trusted to follow established procedures, spot gaps or inconsistencies, and work with the relevant departments to resolve issues before they cause delays. The role would suit someone who is confident with numbers, independent in their approach and comfortable balancing routine deadlines with day-to-day queries and ad hoc office requirements.

You will handle confidential supplier, customer, employee and financial information, so discretion, accuracy and a professional approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, month-end activities and supporting financial information.
  • Preparing and maintaining import, export and inward-processing documentation, including records required for VAT purposes.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns and maintaining accurate supporting records.
  • Preparing supplier payment runs, processing authorised ad hoc payments and managing escalated supplier queries.
  • Completing bank reconciliations and supporting year-end audit requirements.
  • Managing petty cash and providing support or cover for purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing, expenses and other routine finance activities as required.
  • Maintaining accurate records across finance and business systems, investigating discrepancies and responding to internal and external queries.
  • Supporting the introduction and continuous improvement of finance systems, controls and working practices.
  • Undertaking ad hoc general office management duties to support the smooth day-to-day running of the Leicester office.
  • Providing general finance and administrative support as required, while following company procedures, approval limits and data-protection requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
