About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the finance team of a fast-growing UK business with expanding international operations.

This is an opportunity for someone at the beginning of their finance career who has a basic understanding of accounting principles and, most importantly, the desire to learn, work hard and develop.

Initially, you will support the day-to-day finance function across bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledger, reconciliations and payments. As your experience develops, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility across month-end, management reporting, inventory, international finance and financial analysis.

The business is expected to grow significantly, creating a genuine opportunity for the role to develop with it.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Finance

  • Process and code supplier invoices and help resolve queries.
  • Maintain customer accounts and support credit control.
  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare routine journals and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Assist with supplier payment runs and payment administration.
  • Process expenses and maintain supporting documentation.

Month-End & Reporting

  • Support month-end close, reconciliations, journals, management reporting and basic financial analysis as your experience develops.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You don't need to arrive with years of experience. We do expect you to take ownership of your work, ask questions, respond to feedback and make the most of the opportunities available to you.

You will work closely with the Head of Finance and gain exposure to both the finance function and the wider business.

You will receive hands-on training and mentoring, with the opportunity to broaden your responsibilities as your knowledge and capability develop.

Where appropriate, we will support you in studying towards an AAT qualification.

The business is entering a period of significant growth, and the finance function will develop alongside it. For someone with the right attitude and ambition, there is significant scope to take on greater responsibility and build a broad career in finance.

This is a fully remote UK role, with occasional travel for team meetings and wider business activities.

Applications are welcome from across the UK, although there is a preference for candidates based in Newcastle upon Tyne or the wider North East to allow for occasional in-person working with the Head of Finance.
