Finance Assistant
Basildon, Essex | Construction Industry
Are you an experienced Finance Assistant looking for your next career move? Our client, an established and growing business within the construction industry, is looking for a motivated Finance Assistant to join their finance team in Basildon, Essex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around 2–3 years of finance experience who is keen to broaden their knowledge, take on more responsibility and develop their career within a successful business.
The Role
Working closely with the wider finance team, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

- Processing and managing Accounts Payable
- Supporting Accounts Receivable processes
- Assisting with credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Supporting monthly payroll processes
- Processing invoices and payments
- Reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Dealing with supplier and customer queries
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties and projects
- Ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Ideally 2–3 years’ experience within a finance/accounts environment
- Confident working across purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
- Ideally has some exposure to payroll
- Comfortable using Excel and finance/accounting systems
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- A confident communicator who can work with both internal teams and external customers/suppliers
- Proactive, reliable and keen to learn
- Looking to progress and develop their career within finance

Previous experience within the construction or related industries would be advantageous, but is not essential
