Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator
Location: Denham
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Office Based
We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator to join a well-established, close-knit business within the construction sector.
This is a varied position working closely with the Finance Controller, combining day-to-day accounts responsibilities with general office administration. It would suit someone who enjoys working within a smaller business where everyone works together and is happy to get involved across different areas.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing sales and purchase ledger using Sage 50
- Processing and inputting supplier invoices
- Matching invoices against purchase orders
- Raising, matching and updating purchase orders
- Producing cost reports for Project Managers
- Assisting with credit control
- Monthly company credit card reconciliations, including gathering and matching receipts
- Dealing with supplier and invoice queries
- Supporting the Finance Controller with general accounts duties
- Liaising with accountants regarding CIS and HMRC verifications
- Checking subcontractor information and relevant company compliance documentation
- Supporting site and office-based teams with general queries
- General administration including filing, answering calls and assisting with the smooth running of the office

What We're Looking For
Due to the nature of the role, previous finance/accounts experience within the construction industry is essential.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within an accounts or finance position in a construction-related business
- Good working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
- Understanding of the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge
- Experience using Sage 50
- Sales and purchase ledger experience
- Experience processing invoices and purchase orders
- Credit control and reconciliation experience
- Good Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach
- A confident, helpful communication style
- A flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team when required

This is a fully office-based role in Denham and therefore candidates must be comfortable working on-site five days per week.
