Siemens Energy Real Estate is looking to recruit a Business Controller to support UK & IE in commercial and financial management. You will be responsible for managing all commercial/financial related tasks for UK & IE, enabling a complete and transparent analysis of Siemens Energy Real Estate business as well as liaising with the local business. The UK & IE Real Estate portfolio covers ~ 250,000 m² with an estimated cost base of ~ € 115’0. You'll fit right in if you're open to challenges, have a team spirit and like to spend time at work pro-actively.
How you'll make a difference
- Ensures timely and accurate books and records including the recording in appropriate systems i.e., compliance with Siemens Energy Financial Reporting Guidelines (IFRS
- Ensure IFRS 16 and implementation/alignment of SE RE guidelines and principles; ensuring compliance with accounting standards
- Budgeting/Forecasting and actual and variance reporting at country level
- Partner with the Head of RE UK & IE to ensure close co-operation within the local RE UK & IE team and local customers
- Partner with the RE Technical Project Management team to ensure commercial execution and control of projects in compliance with the defined schedule and cost targets for new real estate projects), set up of project activities in SAP including accurate budget and forecast on a timely basis
- Commercial support for negotiation and preparation of external leases
- Commercial guidance in RE specific accounting topics i.e. perform necessary calculations, reconciliations, provisions and accruals, ensure RE business model is consistently applied
- Steers, analyses and controls targeted finance and operational results (Gross Cost, Free Cashflow, Profit and Capex) and reviews, aligns and communicates to local, business and RE Hub management
- Performs financial analysis regarding trends, assets, cash and liabilities
- Supports identification and implementation of savings measures and ensure accurate reporting and documentation
- Support in risk management
- Team lead responsibility for 1 team member
- Support in implementing process improvements, initiatives and new business tools
- Support ad-hoc tasks / requirements
- Maintains working relationships with external service providers/suppliers and Business Areas

What you bring
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance or similar
- Knowledge of real estate specific and lease accounting issues such as IFRS 16 and accounting for fixed assets
- Customer Orientation as the partner to the asset management organization
- 3-5 years working in a similar controlling role. Previous experience working in a numerical or financial environment is required. The post holder should be accounting qualified, with previous SAP experience
- The ability to handle large amounts of information in a structured manner
- Knowledge of Digital and automation tools such and Alteryx would be an advantage
- The ability to communicate clearly with different levels of stakeholders across the business
- Ability to adapt and learn new skills
- Initiative, proactive and team play
- English speaking required
