Financial Control Manager

Location: London
Contract: 3 months (till 14 December 2026)
Work Setup: Hybrid (2 to 3 days in the office)

What You'll Do

  • Support the Head of Financial Control in managing Retail Finance risks, maintaining governance standards and acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Oversee the Retail Finance control environment, ensuring compliance with Finance Group standards and driving improvements to processes and controls.
  • Identify and facilitate owners making enhancements to financial processes and controls to help reduce operational risk and improve the reliability of financial outcomes.
  • Produce clear management information on financial reporting and risk indicators, collaborating with Retail and Group colleagues to support informed decision-making.
  • Provide expert guidance on accounting processes, reconciliations and control requirements, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

What You Bring

  • Ideally a Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Relevant experience within the insurance industry would be ideal or within wider financial services.
  • Proven experience across both, financial control and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting, actuarial processes and regulatory reporting requirements, including IFRS 17, Solvency II and SAO.
  • Proven ability to identify risks and challenges, critically analyse problems and work with stakeholders to implement pragmatic process and control improvements.
  • Strong understanding of financial control frameworks, governance models and risk management practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to adapt to change and promote continuous improvement.
