We are partnering with a high-growth, PE backed international technology business to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to take ownership of financial reporting across multiple EMEA entities within a fast-paced, global organisation. Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will oversee month-end reporting, statutory compliance, audit delivery, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
This role would suit a technically strong Financial Controller who is comfortable operating in a complex, multi-entity, multi-currency environment and is confident partnering with stakeholders across international finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process across multiple EMEA entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate management reporting in line with US GAAP.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and key accounting judgements.
- Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure reporting accuracy across the region.
Statutory Reporting & Audit
- Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS.
- Lead external audit processes across several legal entities.
- Act as the primary finance contact for auditors, ensuring an efficient and timely audit process.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.

Tax & Payroll
- Support payroll accounting, including review of payroll journals and accruals.
- Prepare employment tax submissions, including PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSA) and employment-related securities reporting.
- Partner closely with internal tax specialists to support corporation tax reporting and transfer pricing requirements.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial controls, reporting processes and month-end efficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
- Support finance transformation projects where required.
Leadership & Business Partnering
- Provide coaching, guidance and technical support to members of the finance team.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
- Support senior finance leadership with ad hoc projects and business initiatives.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a collaborative and commercially minded approach. You'll ideally bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Significant post-qualified experience within industry.
- Previous Financial Controller experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience operating across multiple legal entities and currencies.
- A proven track record of managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Experience leading statutory audits and external audit relationships.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for improving finance processes.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring finance professionals.

Desirable Experience
Experience gained within a PE backed international technology, software, SaaS or other fast-growing multinational businesses would be highly advantageous.
