Financial Controller

£80,000 – £85,000 + benefits
Central London | Hybrid

I'm working with a VC-backed technology business that is entering an exciting stage of growth and is looking to hire a Financial Controller into its finance team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, but also wants to have a genuine influence on how a growing business operates.

You'll take ownership of the core financial control environment while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to improve reporting, processes and decision-making.

The Role

  • Own the month-end and year-end close process
  • Take responsibility for the integrity of the balance sheet and financial reporting
  • Oversee management accounts and provide clear commentary on performance
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and key financial controls
  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and support the audit process
  • Own VAT, corporation tax and other financial compliance requirements
  • Improve and automate existing finance processes and controls
  • Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, providing financial insight and challenge
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Assist with investor reporting and ad hoc analysis as the business continues to scale

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
