Financial Controller - 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a well-established international manufacturing and engineering business to recruit a Financial Controller on an 18-month fixed-term contract basis to cover maternity leave. The role will be based in Fife with hybrid working on offer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a successful, market-leading organisation with a strong international presence. The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, responsibility for a finance team, and the opportunity to influence both operational and strategic decision-making.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Financial Controller will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business whilst providing commercial support to stakeholders across multiple functions.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the monthly management reporting process and ensuring timely, accurate financial information.
- Managing forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities.
- Maintaining robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
- Overseeing VAT and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Supporting inventory and fixed asset accounting processes.
- Partnering with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and support business performance.
- Identifying and driving process improvement initiatives across finance.
- Leading, developing, and supporting an established finance team.
About You
We are keen to speak with finance professionals who can demonstrate:
- A professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager position.
- Strong financial reporting, planning, and analysis capabilities.
- Experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Strong systems and Excel proficiency.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
