Why we're hiring:
We are seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to join InfoSum, part of WPP Media, on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
This role will be responsible for leading and managing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met and financial information is delivered accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will maintain a robust financial control environment, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the ongoing development of a streamlined and effective finance reporting function. The team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate monthly reporting to WPP, including P&L and balance sheet submissions, alongside high-quality management information that enables informed business decision-making.
Working closely with both finance and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in enhancing financial processes, improving reporting quality, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
While this appointment is initially being offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract, we are also recruiting for a permanent position within the function, creating a potential long-term opportunity for the right individual.
What you'll be doing:

- Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, resolving outstanding items promptly.
- Support statutory reporting requirements and year-end financial submissions.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
