Financial Controller
High-Growth AI Scale-Up | London | £80,000–£95,000 + Bonus
The Opportunity
We’re working with a high-growth AI scale-up that is looking to appoint a Financial Controller as it enters an exciting stage of growth. This is a genuine opportunity to join a fast-moving technology business and take ownership of the financial control environment while working closely with senior leadership.
The role will suit an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with 2–5 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally gained within a high-growth technology environment. You’ll be joining a business where Finance is central to the next phase of growth with the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen reporting and build a scalable finance function.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial control and reporting function, ensuring the business has accurate, timely and commercially useful financial information. You will also manage a team of two, providing leadership, development and oversight while continuing to operate at a hands-on level.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
