About the Role
A privately owned B2B that has demonstrated a strong dual-engine growth strategy, balancing robust organic expansion, with plentiful strategic acquisitions has engaged Gifford and Partners to help them appoint a key role of Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO in a highly profitable and cash-rich business, this is a great position for an ambitious Management Accountant, Finance Manager, or current Financial Controller that can lead a team, improve process and efficiency, whilst adding further value to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of the monthly management accounts both UK and overseas.
- Production of annual accounts and oversee annual year-end stock takes.
- Completion of tender questionnaires re financials.
- Quarterly VAT returns across the Group.
- Complete all HMRC requirements and reporting.
- Monthly payroll reconciliation.
- Monthly supplier payment runs.
- Additional ad hoc reporting.
- Management and training of a small accounting team (up to 8) with some being split between different operating locations.
- Stakeholder management amongst operations and finance including senior leadership teams and the board.

What We Are Targeting
Ideally this role is targeting either a qualified ACCA/ACMA or qualified by experience individual, who has had previous management exposure. You must be technically strong able to drive not only the production of the accounts but also deliver a high-level review for the board whilst adding value. There will be projects outside of the above supporting future tenders, contract review as well as partnering operations in the day-to-day delivery and growth of the company.
