CMG is working exclusively with a high growth, London based financial services organisation specialising in foreign exchange, international payments and treasury solutions for corporate clients. With a strong reputation for customer service, innovation and tailored solutions, the business is entering an exciting phase of expansion and operational transformation.
Following a recent organisational restructure, the company is investing in people, systems, controls and processes to build a scalable platform for future development. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the finance function.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the COO and Board, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the finance function, combining hands-on financial leadership with process improvement, systems development and team management. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance leader who enjoys operating in a growing, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of financial control, reporting and month-end close.
- Produce management accounts, board reporting and performance analysis.
- Provide oversight of safeguarding, client money controls and FX-related financial reporting requirements.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and regulatory reporting processes.
- Manage the annual audit and external stakeholder relationships.
- Improve finance systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
- Lead and develop a small finance team.
- Partner with operational, commercial and compliance teams across the business.
- Support business growth initiatives, operational scalability and strategic projects.

Candidate Requirements
- ACA/CA qualified or equivalent
- 5+ years post-qualified financial control experience.
- Trained within a leading audit or accountancy practice.
- Understanding of safeguarding requirements, client money regulations and/or foreign exchange operations
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and controls expertise covering FCA and Safeguarding environments
- Track record of systems improvement, finance transformation or process optimisation.
- Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and boards.
- Previous team leadership and people management experience.
