Summary:
We are supporting a highly successful PE backed Group based in Leicester to hire a Financial Controller for its central finance function.
This is a highly visible role within the business, who are entering into another exciting phase of growth through acquisition. This role will take full ownership of Group cash flow and treasury, managing the day-to-day cash position across multiple entities, and building forecasting that goes beyond a simple projection. Alongside this you will lead the central finance team, own the budgets and month end process for central cost centres, and play an active role in integrating newly acquired businesses into the Group.
This is a role for someone who wants genuine ownership of cash and control, not just oversight of a process. You will need to be commercially minded, comfortable in a fast-moving environment, and confident leading a team through change. You will have genuine scope to make your mark – reporting into a Finance Director who is genuinely invested in your development and keen to give you the space to shape the function your way, with a clear path to progress as the Group continues to grow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
