Sowena Group Financial Controller Opportunity
Sowena Group are partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed business based in South Manchester to recruit a Financial Controller.
This is a broad and hands-on role, working closely with the Finance Director and wider senior leadership team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while playing a key role in improving reporting, controls and processes as the business continues to scale.
The Role
- Oversee reporting and MI production
- Manage and develop a small finance team
- Prepare monthly reporting packs and provide meaningful analysis to the senior leadership team
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow forecasting
- Develop and improve financial controls, processes and reporting systems
- Provide commercial insight into business performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities
- Work closely with operational teams to improve financial performance and decision-making
- Support the Finance Director with board and investor reporting
- Assist with year-end audit and statutory accounts
- Play a key role in the ongoing development and professionalisation of the finance function
- Support wider projects associated with the company's continued growth and private equity ownership

About You

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong technical grounding and experience operating in a fast-paced, growing business.
You'll ideally have experience within a PE-backed, acquisitive or high-growth environment and be comfortable working in a role that combines financial control, management reporting and commercial analysis.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, commercially minded and confident dealing with stakeholders across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a finance function and play a significant role in a growing business.
