Financial Controller
Saltash, Cornwall
£70,000 - £80,000 per annum
Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing business, is looking to appoint a proactive Financial Controller to join their leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity offers hybrid working arrangements of 3 days office-based, 2 days work from home per week.
As the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the company’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and efficient processes are maintained. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide valuable commercial insight, support informed decision-making, and play a key role in improving systems and driving the continued development of the finance function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven finance professional to take ownership of financial strategy, drive operational improvements, and play a key role in shaping the company’s continued growth. The responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring strong controls and best practice.
- Oversee daily finance operations and accounting processes.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management reporting.
- Drive improvements across systems, processes, and financial efficiency.
- Produce insightful MI, KPI reporting, and commercial analysis.
- Manage cash flow, budgets, and working capital planning.
- Provide financial insight to support strategic business decisions.
- Partner with senior leadership to improve performance and growth.
- Manage external relationships covering audit, tax, and compliance matters.

The candidate:
- A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3+ years’ post-qualified experience.
- A confident, hands-on finance leader who can operate effectively at both a strategic and operational level.
- Experience within a multi-site or product-led environment would be highly advantageous.
- Strong Excel modelling, analytical, and management reporting capabilities.
- A commercially driven, adaptable approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME environment
