Our client is a well-established, private equity firm with a strong footprint across Europe, focused on backing businesses that play a critical role in their respective industries, spanning sectors such as business services, industrial technology and healthcare.
The Role
At its core, this role is about ensuring financial information is accurate and delivered on time, while meeting all statutory obligations around accounting, audit and tax across both jurisdictions.
You'll work closely with colleagues across finance and fund accounting more broadly. While the role leans toward private equity fund structures, there's meaningful exposure to debt fund vehicles too, and any prior exposure to carried interest or co-investment structures would be a real plus.
Essential Requirements
Good practical experience in the following areas would be essential to performing this role to the required high standard:
- Preparation of Audited Financial Statements for Limited companies in IFRS.
- Preparation of Audited Consolidated Group Financial Statements in IFRS.
- Preparation of Financial Statements.
- Day to day bookkeeping of GP activities.
- Accounting for complex entities, investment structures, asset holdings, carried interest and co-investment investments at cost versus fair market value.
- Month end close processes for General Partners and other management entities.
- Monthly reconciliation of Income Statement and Balance Sheet account substantiation.
- Cash flow forecasting, contributing towards the effective treasury management of the company's cash reserves.
- Managing annual audit for the entities under remit.
- Ensuring local Corporation Tax Returns are accurate and filed in a timely basis.
- Preparing and presenting financial information to local Boards of Directors.
- Involvement in the annual planning cycle and regular reporting of performance against plan to senior management.
- Assisting the Head of Finance with ad hoc projects, tasks and deadlines as and when required.
- Ensuring that all relevant vehicles adhere to internal legal and structural agreements.
- Liaising closely with other teams and offices within the group to ensure efficient and effective sharing of information so that accruals and recharges between entities are timely and accurate.
- Working closely with the centralised finance operations team in Jersey to ensure day to day operations run smoothly so that suppliers and staff expense reclaims are paid accurately and on time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
