Financial Controller - Reports to Finance Director
About the Business
Our client is one of Europe's leading mid-market private equity and credit investment platforms, with a multi-decade track record of building stronger, more resilient businesses across a range of sectors. Operating from a network of offices across Europe, the firm runs multiple complementary strategies spanning private equity and private credit, and is backed by one of the industry's largest dedicated in-house value creation teams.
The platform has continued to grow assets under management year on year, recently closing new strategies and expanding its credit franchise, which has been independently recognised as a top performer in its category. This is a genuinely exciting time to join: the finance function is scaling alongside the wider business, and this role has been created to add further strength and depth to that team.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong, recently qualified ACA (circa 3-4 years post-qualified) to join a top-tier, growing investment platform in a broad Financial Controller role. You will take ownership of financial reporting, regulatory compliance and financial control across the group's management entities, working closely with senior finance leadership and gaining direct exposure to a fast-paced, commercially-minded business.
The role offers genuine scope to make an impact quickly, with real ownership of process improvement and control enhancement, alongside close partnership with fund operations, external administrators, auditors and advisers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
