Financial Controller
Alexander Daniels are partnering with a successful and growing multi-site business to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to join its expanding finance leadership team based on-site in Grantham, Nottinghamshire.
This is a newly created role, driven by continued growth across several divisions of the business. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, improving reporting, and providing meaningful commercial insight to support decision-making.
The position combines financial control, business partnering, FP&A, and team leadership, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys turning data into actionable business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across multiple business units.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Produce and present insightful management information to senior leadership and board stakeholders.
- Partner with operational leaders to analyse performance, challenge assumptions and drive profitability.
- Deliver detailed performance reporting, KPI analysis and variance commentary.
- Oversee month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and VAT returns.
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations across a multi-entity group.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, systems, controls and finance processes.
- Support and develop members of the finance team while helping foster a culture of accountability and high performance.

About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or possess equivalent experience, with a proven track record in Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior FP&A positions.
You'll also bring:
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling experience.
- Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills.
- Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders.
- Strong month-end, balance sheet and statutory compliance knowledge.
- Experience within a multi-entity or multi-site environment.
- Advanced Excel capability and strong systems experience.
- Previous people management or team development experience.

Desirable Experience
- Manufacturing, distribution, logistics, automotive, engineering or operationally-focused environments.
- Power BI, Jet Reports or similar reporting tools.
- Experience supporting growth, acquisitions, integrations or business transformation projects.
