We’re working with a fast-growing, highly commercial £40m+ business based in Swansea that is looking to appoint an ambitious and commercially minded Financial Controller.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, driven finance professional who wants to take ownership, make an impact and ultimately develop into a Finance Director.
The Opportunity
As Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, leading the finance team while working closely with the wider senior leadership team.
This is not a purely technical or reporting-focused role. We’re looking for someone who wants to understand the business, challenge decisions, improve performance and use finance to help drive commercial growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function
- Oversee management accounts, reporting and financial controls
- Drive budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
- Provide meaningful commercial insight to the leadership team
- Improve processes, systems and financial reporting
- Partner with operational and commercial teams
- Support strategic decision-making across the business
- Take on increasing responsibility as the business continues to grow
We’re looking for someone who is bright, ambitious and commercially driven — someone who sees the Financial Controller position as a genuine stepping stone towards an FD role.

You may already be a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar, but more important than your current job title is your ambition, commercial mindset and ability to make things happen.
You’ll ideally be:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Commercially minded rather than purely technical
- Confident working with senior stakeholders
- A strong people leader
- Analytical, curious and comfortable challenging the status quo
- Ambitious to develop your career
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment
