Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Bilston, West Midlands
Salary: £60,000–£70,000
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Workplace Type: On-site
Are you an experienced Financial Controller who wants to do more than manage the finance function?
We are working with an established manufacturing business in the West Midlands to recruit a commercially minded Financial Controller for a newly created position.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in the future development of the business.
Our client is looking for someone who has the ambition and potential to progress beyond finance and take on wider business responsibilities in the future.

What you'll be doing:
- Leading the finance function and managing the finance team.
- Overseeing monthly management accounts, financial reporting and month-end processes.
- Managing budgets, cash flow and financial planning.
- Overseeing stock, inventory, standard costing and product costing.
- Analysing margins and providing commercial insight to support business decisions.
- Working closely with operational teams and senior leadership.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance, processes and controls.
What we're looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or FCCA).
- Previous Financial Controller or senior finance experience within a manufacturing or industrial SME.
- Strong management accounting and commercial finance experience.
- Experience of stock, inventory, product costing and margin analysis.
- Previous team leadership experience.
- A hands-on, proactive approach and strong commercial awareness.
- The ambition and potential to progress into wider business leadership.
