Financial Controller | Consumer Brand | South Manchester (On-site) | £80,000 - £90,000, + bonus + benefits

The Opportunity

We're exclusively partnering with an ambitious, founder-led consumer business to appoint a Financial Controller into a newly created leadership role.

Having experienced exceptional growth in recent years, the business is entering its next phase and is investing heavily in its finance function. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside an experienced Finance Director, taking ownership of financial control, reporting and commercial insight across a complex, multi-entity business.

Importantly, this role offers a genuine route to becoming Head of Finance as the business continues to grow.

If you're looking for a role where you can influence decision making, improve processes and make a visible impact, this is an outstanding opportunity.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll lead the financial control function while providing accurate, timely and commercially focused reporting to support business performance.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, improving reporting, strengthening controls and helping leadership make faster, better-informed commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end, management accounts and board reporting across multiple entities
  • Deliver accurate, commercially focused financial reporting and analysis
  • Own budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting
  • Improve financial controls, reporting processes and automation
  • Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
  • Lead balance sheet integrity, audit preparation and statutory reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
  • Manage and develop members of the finance team
  • Support strategic projects alongside the Finance Director

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
