An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a highly respected and growing specialty insurance business operating within the Lloyd's market. This is a key leadership role, offering broad exposure across financial control, technical reporting, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management within a fast-paced underwriting environment.
Your new role
- Lead all aspects of financial control for the syndicates and associated entities.
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory, regulatory and Lloyd's reporting.
- Manage the annual audit process and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Support Solvency II reporting requirements and wider regulatory submissions.
- Review and enhance financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Partner with underwriting, actuarial and operations teams across the business.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives within finance.
- Lead, develop and mentor finance team members.

What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Proven experience within the Lloyd's and London Market insurance sector.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
- Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience managing audits and working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
- Commercially minded with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience of syndicate reporting and Lloyd's returns
