We’re looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the Sky Garden / Permavoid Finance team and play a key role in driving the financial performance of the business.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders, providing the financial insight they need to make informed business decisions. You’ll take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while helping to drive improvements across profit and loss, working capital, cash flow and capital expenditure.
Beyond the numbers, you’ll be encouraged to challenge, influence and continuously improve the way financial information is used across the business. You’ll provide clear insight into operational and sales performance, helping translate financial data into meaningful actions that support better commercial decision-making
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the production of budgets and forecasts, helping to provide the business with accurate and insightful financial information.
- Lead the production of the monthly management review presentation.
- Provide regular analysis of actual and forecast performance across sales, customer rebates, material costs, labour efficiency, working capital, capital expenditure and cash flow.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place to mitigate risk and maintain high-quality financial reporting.
- Manage key reporting and compliance processes, including internal and external audits and Group reporting requirements.
- Oversee short-term cash flow reporting and provide clear analysis against budget.
- Drive a healthy capital expenditure pipeline, ensuring spend requests are timely and supported by high-quality justification.
- Promote continuous improvement across cost controls and working capital management.

Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant with a CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification.
- Strong experience of balance sheet control and budgeting/forecasting across P&L and balance sheet.
- Experience working within a large or listed-business reporting environment.
- Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to turn financial information into meaningful business insight.
- Experience managing external stakeholders, including auditors, alongside experience working with accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a pressurised environment.
- A confident and effective communicator with strong organisational skills.
- Experience working with international businesses, including exposure to multi-currency accounting and financial reporting.
- Project accounting experience and experience within manufacturing, particularly SKU costing, would be desirable.
