Financial Controller - Family Office

Windsor – office based
Permanent
£100,000

Overview

We have an excellent opportunity within a Family Office for an experienced Financial Controller to manage the financial affairs of a high net worth family, their businesses and personal interests. This is a hands-on role covering finances, investments, property, tax, payroll and coordination with external advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile personal bank accounts and credit cards; approve expenses and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Prepare management accounts, tax returns and financial reports
  • Manage investments and monitor strategy, tax planning and risk
  • Manage relationships with banks, accountants, solicitors, insurers and investment advisors
  • Maintain personal records, KYC and compliance documentation
  • Manage residential and commercial property, including tenants, contractors, rent, invoices, repairs and renewals
  • Oversee property projects, budgets and timelines
  • Manage payroll and bookkeeping for personal accounts, trusts, partnerships and investment entities
  • Manage UK and international tax exposure and related filings
  • Oversee ATED, AEOI, VAT, FATCA and other reporting requirements
  • Support family members with ad hoc projects and activities, including European horse transportation and related VAT/logistics

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant with strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, ideally gained within a complex private client or owner-managed environment
  • Experience in a private office, family office or HNW household finance environment
  • Experience working with multiple advisors and jurisdictions
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to identify financial and tax risks
  • Independent, organised and able to prioritise within a small team
  • Discreet, trustworthy and confident dealing with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Clear, concise communicator with a can-do attitude
  • UK driving license
  • Property management experience desirable
  • Sage 50 experience desirable
