Syndicate Financial Controller

About the Role
Step up into a high-profile leadership role managing Lloyd's syndicate financial reporting for a global market leader. Lead an established Finance team, owning comprehensive reporting across US/UK GAAP, Solvency UK, international returns. A key role offering the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership at entity and group level. Ideal for an experienced qualified accountant from practice or industry looking to demonstrate leadership capability across multiple reporting regimes.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and lead a growing Syndicate Finance team with oversight of all Lloyd's reporting (US GAAP, UK GAAP, Solvency, international returns, tax) including planning
- Ensure timely, accurate completion of statutory statements and regulatory filings
- Own financial accounting processes, close controls, and continuous improvements
- Coordinate with group, external auditors, and committees
- Drive syndicate finance objectives and group strategic priorities

Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience with Lloyd’s market experience
- Insurance industry and Lloyd's market experience (practice or industry backgrounds welcome)
- Strong knowledge of US/UK GAAP, Solvency UK, and Lloyd's reporting
- Proven team leadership experience with strong stakeholder management skills
- Advanced IT skills including GL systems and Microsoft applications
