Digby Financial Controller

Play an essential role in Digby’s Team. Ambitious growth is at the centre of everything we do at Digby. We are now a group of companies and we are looking for a Financial Controller to run the day-to-day finance for the whole group, working directly with our Head of Finance and IS.
Responsibilities
As Digby Financial Controller, reporting to the Head of Finance and IS, you will be involved in financial operations across the group including:
- Purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, expenses and cards for each company in Xero
- Supplier payments on terms and customer collections, including trade and corporate accounts
- Weekly cash position and payment run by company; intercompany balances agreed monthly
- Running payroll in house for each employing company: monthly payroll, RTI and pension submissions, starters and leavers with our HR provider
- Management reporting and analysis
- Aid in creation of the annual budget and forecasting
- Provide assistance to and answer queries from management and the Board on financial aspects of the business
- Post monthly accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments
- Prepare Monthly Management Accounts and Quarterly reporting including Balance Sheet reconciliations, revenue and cost analysis
- Prepare monthly cashflow reports
- Help the company to ensure it is maximising the value from its processes, systems and procurement

Other
- Assist with Company Secretarial matters as required, e.g. taking Board Minutes, entering filings, managing compliance
- Assist with corporate matters as required, e.g. HR administration working with our professional HR contractor, facilities management assistance, etc.
Working Hours
Permanent, full-time role or part-time moving into full-time
- ~3/4 days per week preferred to start (minimum 24 hours per week).
- Note: Digby would consider part-time applicants for this role in certain circumstances leading into a full-time role.

Requirements
- AAT qualified, or part-qualified ACCA or CIMA and actively studying
- Two or more years in an SME finance team or accountancy practice, running ledgers and month-end for more than one company
- Has run a payroll, or worked closely with an outsourced payroll or accountancy provider
- Xero to a high standard; Excel to intermediate level (lookups, pivots); Dext or similar
- Willing to adopt a hands-on role and undertake transactional work as necessary; accurate, organised and calm under deadline
- Experience with stock accounting, hospitality or drinks helpful but not required
- Knowledge of Cin7 or another inventory system, and of e-commerce or membership platform reconciliations, an advantage

Dependent on experience, stock options programme available
