Hiring: Financial Controller | Peterborough, UK | £80,000-£100,000
I'm currently hiring on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced Financial Controller to join their leadership team in Peterborough.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who wants to work closely with the CEO and CFO, drive strategic decision-making, and lead the finance function in a growing business.
Location: Peterborough (Office-based)

Salary: 80000 to 100000 GBP/Annum
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all core accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations)
- Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis
- Oversee statutory accounts and year-end audits
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
- Ensure HMRC and VAT compliance
- Strengthen financial controls and reporting processes
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic business decisions

What We're Looking For
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant
- 5+ years' post-qualification experience
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role
- Strong UK GAAP knowledge
- Experience managing finance teams
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems expertise (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
