Job Description

A rapidly expanding Data and AI Consulting firm, supporting clients through the strategic use of data analytics and AI, is currently seeking a Financial Controller (Number 1 finance role) reporting to the group CFO with dotted lines into the COO and CEO.

The ideal candidate is someone who wants to work in a demanding start-up environment supporting growth and development across multiple geographies. Our client is looking for an individual with an AI-first mentality to use the latest technology and develop automation within the business.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be fully responsible for end-to-end finance operations including:

  • P&L/Balance Sheet
  • AR & AP
  • Payroll & HR
  • VAT and Tax
  • Management Accounts
  • Cash Management
  • Financial Dashboards & Process Improvement
  • FP&A processes, including investor reporting.

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Proficiency, Big 4 trained, Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 3 - 5 years PQE.

  • Organisation and Workload Management: Highly organised with the ability to handle a demanding workload, balancing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior stakeholders across finance and non-finance teams.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Comfortable working with cross-time-zone teams, adapting to evolving business needs, and willing to provide support in fast-paced environments.
  • Analytical and Process-Oriented: A detail-oriented approach with a strong aptitude for identifying areas for process improvements and challenging the status quo where appropriate.
