About the Role

I am currently recruiting for an established and growing specialist lending business who have a strong track record of providing funding across a diverse range of sectors. Supported by an experienced leadership team, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth, expanding both organically and through strategic opportunities.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective financial management across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial control and reporting activities across the business
  • Partner to the FD, CFO, and CEO, delivering monthly management accounts and board packs
  • Develop and maintain forecasting models for cash flow, debt servicing, and capital allocation
  • Oversee finance operations, including payment processes and banking relationships; revenue schedules and payroll processing
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Develop financial models, including scenario planning and sensitivity analysis
  • Manage year-end and interim audit processes
  • Lead technical accounting discussions and ensure the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions
  • Prepare financial reporting for funding partners and other stakeholders
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting to lenders and funding partners
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, improving capability and accountability
  • Transform finance systems, processes, and governance, strengthening internal controls and financial transparency

Suitable candidates must have significant experience at Financial Controller level and be able to demonstrate previous experience of evaluating and enhancing financial processes to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and ensure the finance function is fully aligned with business objectives.

Whilst there is a slight bias on the financial accounting side, there is also a more commercial aspect which will help you develop.
