Group Financial Controller
Mapped Recruitment is partnering with a consumer brand to recruit a Group Financial Controller.
What started as a DTC brand is now a multi-entity, multi-market, multi-channel group, with subscription, wholesale and retail running side by side. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will build the controls, reporting, and compliance foundations for the next phase of growth.
The business operates across multiple entities, markets and channels, including D2C, wholesale and retail, so we are looking for someone who has worked in a similarly fast-paced, product-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Finance Director, overseeing the UK Finance team
- Lead the month-end and year-end close across every group entity, owning the timetable, quality, review process, and final sign-off.
- Support the Finance Director with board and investor reporting
- Take ownership of balance-sheet integrity across the group
- Ensure the accuracy of stock and cost of goods sold by reconciling warehouse systems, 3PL records, and the general ledger.
- Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements for every group entity and manage the annual audit
- Lead the group’s transition to the relevant FRS 102 & IFRS changes
- Oversee indirect tax across the group
- Key Projects include: ERP systems improvement, replacing manual spreadsheet reconciliations with reliable automated processes, improving warehouse-to-ERP integration

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
