Financial Controller
Salary: £90,000-£100,000 + Bonus

Finatal is partnering with a private equity-backed infrastructure business during an exciting period of growth and investment. With a portfolio of critical assets and a clear value creation agenda, the business is seeking a Financial Controller to strengthen the finance function and support the CFO through the next phase of expansion.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad role offering exposure across financial reporting, controls, process improvement, business partnering and strategic projects. The successful candidate will take ownership of core finance activities while helping to build a scalable finance function capable of supporting continued growth.
The Role
- Ownership of month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs
- Management of audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance processes
- Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury activities
- Ownership and enhancement of financial controls, governance and risk frameworks
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes
- Drive process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
- Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business
- Support acquisition, integration and wider strategic finance projects
- Mentor and develop junior members of the finance team
- Ownership of fixed asset accounting and CapEx reporting across multiple projects and investment programmes
- Partner with operational teams to monitor project spend, capitalisation policies and investment performance
- Support business cases, investment appraisals and funding requirements for growth initiatives

The Candidate

- ACA Qualified, ideally within a Top 10 practice
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, utilities, transport, telecommunications, data centre or other asset-intensive businesses
- Exposure to CapEx accounting, project accounting, fixed asset management and large-scale investment programmes
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
- Experience managing audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ambitious individual seeking a high-growth environment with significant responsibility and progression opportunities
