Following a period of significant growth, the business now operates across a diverse portfolio of sectors, including property investment and development. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of a broad finance function, improve reporting and controls, and provide meaningful commercial insight to senior leadership.

Michael Page Finance is delighted to be partnering with one of our key clients, a successful and growing privately owned group based in Leeds, to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.

Description

  • Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple Group entities.
  • Review P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Produce Board reporting packs with clear commentary and commercial analysis.
  • Own weekly short and long-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Review and improve the monthly Group consolidation process.
  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts.
  • Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support Companies House compliance and statutory filings.
  • Develop and improve the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Improve KPI reporting and provide greater commercial insight to senior management.
  • Support business plans and funding proposals.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.
  • Oversee VAT, PAYE, CIS, and payroll-related activities.
  • Support pension administration and other finance operations as required.

Profile

  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Previous Financial Controller or senior finance experience.
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience managing external audits.
  • Excellent Excel and wider Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability.
  • Experience working across a multi-entity or complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership.
  • A track record of improving processes, controls, and reporting.
