The Role

Finatal is partnering with a high-growth, investor-backed business seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the leadership team during a pivotal stage of growth.

The business has established a strong market position and is entering a period of significant expansion, supported by an active acquisition strategy. With transactions anticipated over the coming years, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, enhancing reporting capability and supporting the business through continued growth and future strategic events.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is ideally suited to a technically strong Financial Controller who enjoys building scalable processes, improving financial governance and operating within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, reporting key drivers to the CFO and PE sponsor.
  • Deliver monthly management accounts and board/KPI packs to PE-standard reporting requirements, working toward a 5-day reporting cycle.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, accounting procedures, and supporting reconciliations suited to a regulated financial services business.
  • Lead the audit process, manage statutory accounts, and oversee advisor and auditor relationships.
  • Own the finance reporting platform and its integration with operational systems.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and bank reporting.
  • Maintain approval workflows and process documentation, scaling with growth.
  • Drive efficiency across finance processes and systems, supporting exit/due-diligence readiness.
  • Provide commercial insight and business partner with budget holders on performance and forecasts.
  • Support board and investor reporting, including quarterly PE updates.
  • Manage the wider finance function and support ad-hoc projects as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
