Element Recruitment have been exclusively engaged by a dynamic, venture capital backed tech scale-up to recruit a commercially minded Financial Controller.
Operating in a high-demand sector with a specialised product portfolio, this exciting SME business supports their clients on a global scale. With strong financial backing and a clear market advantage, the company is primed for rapid scale.
Following a recent leadership evolution, this role serves as the key strategic right hand to an ambitious, impressive and passionate CFO.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the CFO to lead daily finance operations and strategic initiatives.
- Manage, develop, and mentor a small, dedicated finance team (2 FTEs).
- Deliver robust financial reporting, commercial analysis, and high-impact presentations for the Board.
- Drive process improvements, modernizing systems and adopting high-efficiency digital/AI tools.
- Maintain rigorous financial controls across budgeting, forecasting, and cash management in a fast-paced VC environment.

What We’re Looking For
- Commercial Mindset: A proactive and qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) finance professional eager to get hands-on, understand the business drivers, and add real commercial value.
- Technical Aptitude: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and a natural curiosity for modern software and AI tools.
- Team Leader: Proven ability (or strong potential) to manage a small team with a collaborative, supportive approach.
- Growth Readiness: Someone excited by the fast-paced, dynamic nature of an expanding venture-backed business.
Work Location & Flexibility
- Office: Central Bristol
- Pattern: Hybrid working structure with a baseline expectation of 3 days in the office, offering genuine mutual flexibility as required.
Salary - £60,000-£70,000
