Financial Controller
Exeter, Devon
£75,000 - £80,000 per annum
Our client, a successful and growing business, is entering an exciting period of expansion and is now looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in supporting their continued growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the finance team on a full-time, permanent basis and make a genuine impact within a commercially focused organisation.
As the Financial Controller, you’ll lead the finance function, combining strong financial leadership with commercial insight to support key business decisions. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll oversee management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls, while driving continuous improvement across the function.

The Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the finance team, supporting performance and succession planning
- Oversee monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Provide commercial analysis to support pricing, costs, and profitability
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, stock, and capital expenditure
- Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations, and supplier processes
- Coordinate statutory reporting, VAT, payroll-related submissions, and audit requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall financial performance

The Candidate:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant
- Previous Finance Manager or Financial Controller experience
- Strong experience across management and statutory accounts, audit, and financial reporting
- Excellent Excel and accounting systems skills; strong ERP experience advantageous
- Commercially minded, confident leading a team, and influencing stakeholders across the business
