A regarded London Market Specialty Insurer
Currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join them as part of the Finance Senior Leadership team where you'll have full responsibility for the Financial Accounting & Reporting function ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant statutory, management and group reporting.
Responsibilities
- Senior insurance finance leadership experience with a proven track record of leading financial reporting, month-end close, management accounts, financial control and insurance/reinsurance accounting.
- Strong technical accounting and reporting expertise, including ownership of statutory financial statements under FRS 102 and FRS 103, together with substantial experience of IFRS 17 reporting, consolidation and group reporting requirements.
- Proven regulatory and solvency expertise, with responsibility for Solvency UK reporting and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, ideally including international returns such as NAIC and NCID.
- Leadership of the audit, controls and financial governance agenda, including managing the external audit relationship, maintaining a robust internal control framework, overseeing reconciliations and ensuring high standards of financial integrity and risk management.
- Strong collaboration with actuarial and senior stakeholders, with experience overseeing IBNR and technical provisions, IFRS 17 reserving and contributing to Reserving Committees, while confidently presenting financial results and insights to Executive and Finance Committees.
- Proven people leadership and team development capability, with experience leading, mentoring and developing a team of financial accountants and trainees, setting clear objectives, managing performance and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Strategic and commercially minded approach to finance transformation, with experience leading forecasting and reforecasting, improving systems and processes, enhancing data quality and delivering finance elements of transformation projects, while partnering effectively across the business and with international head office stakeholders.

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Experience in a senior finance position within the specialty insurance market
- Proven expertise and leadership experience in financial reporting across statutory, management and group reporting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, IFRS 17 and Solvency UK regulatory returns
- Confident and effective communicator with the ability to present complex technical financial information to senior committees and stakeholders
- Skilled in supporting transformation initiatives, improving and automating processes and systems
Salary on offer
Up to £150k + excellent bonus and comprehensive benefits package
