Financial Controller ripple⁺ | London

About the Brands

We are one of the UK’s leading and fastest-growing wellness companies. We operate across two brands:

  • ripple⁺: A revolutionary approach to nicotine-free alternatives. Our mission is simple: help people step away from nicotine and move toward healthier habits through plant-powered alternatives.
  • droplet: Our modern home fragrance brand, spanning incense, reed diffusers, and upcoming scent innovations that transform spaces with clean, high-quality aromas.

ripple⁺ & droplet Brand DNA

  • Extreme Ownership: Take full responsibility for every outcome within your control.
  • Pursuit of Quality: How you do anything is how you do everything. Excellence is a habit.
  • Purpose: Be here because you want to be - we are a passionate, long-term-focused team.
  • Growth Mindset: Embrace continuous learning, resilience, and adaptability to thrive.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will own the day-to-day reporting requirements of the Finance function across both ripple⁺ and Droplet, and every entity behind them in the UK, US and Europe. You are responsible for making sure our numbers are fast, accurate and audit-ready, and that every VAT, tax and statutory deadline is met without exception.

You’ll manage our first statutory audit for the 2026 financial year alongside the Head of Finance, own the monthly close in partnership with our external bookkeepers in India, and drive the management accounts timetable from working day 13 down to working day 7, so the business is making decisions on timely, reliable information. You’ll work alongside the Head of Finance, who leads strategy, commercial partnering and legal, giving you real ownership of the controllership agenda in a growing multi-brand, multi-entity group.

This is a hands-on, full-time, Monday to Friday, in-office role based in Camden, London. It suits someone who is detail-obsessed, process-minded and comfortable owning outcomes end-to-end with minimal hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Management Accounts

  • Own the timely and accurate production of consolidated monthly management accounts across ripple⁺ and Droplet and all UK, US and EU entities.
  • Reduce the month-end close from WD13 to WD7 by redesigning the close calendar, checklists, accruals and reconciliation processes, and introducing automation where it adds speed and accuracy.
  • Manage our external bookkeeping team in India day-to-day: setting clear deliverables, deadlines and review points, and transitioning additional processes to them as the function scales.
  • Own balance sheet, intercompany and multi-currency reconciliations, including month-end stock reconciliations from warehouse (WMS) reports and intercompany eliminations on consolidation.
  • Own product costings and their postings, deferred income postings and royalty calculations, with a view to transitioning routine postings to our bookkeepers over time.
  • Review the monthly results with the Head of Finance ahead of board meetings, and maintain brand, channel and entity-level reporting that supports decision-making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Audit & Statutory Reporting

  • Manage the group’s first statutory audit for FY2026 alongside the Head of Finance, doing the heavy lifting on audit readiness, the audit timetable, PBC requests, supporting schedules and day-to-day liaison with the auditors.
  • Build robust year-end processes, including stock valuation and provisioning, fixed assets, accruals and prepayments, and supporting schedules that stand up to audit.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for all ripple⁺ and Droplet entities and manage filings with Companies House and overseas equivalents.

VAT, Tax & Compliance

  • Own all VAT and tax returns across every entity, including UK VAT (MTD), EU VAT and OSS returns, US sales tax returns, and corporation tax returns and computations in collaboration with our external tax advisers.
  • Manage tax registrations for Droplet as it expands into new markets and channels, including VAT, OSS and US sales tax registrations.
  • Maintain a group-wide compliance calendar so every filing and payment deadline across the UK, US and EU is met.

Controls, Reporting & Validations

  • Own the daily and weekly reporting and validation cycle: weekly sales reports across both brands, 3PL and supplier invoice validations, commission calculations, key customer reconciliations, card spend and cashback reconciliations.
  • Strengthen financial controls across payments, approvals and spend, and document processes so the function is scalable and audit-ready.
  • Lead process improvement across the function, actively adopting AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini) to build and maintain automations and workflows that remove manual work and speed up reporting.
  • Continuously improve our finance systems and integrations across accounting, ERP (Fulfil), e-commerce and banking platforms.
