Finance Controller – Lloyd’s / Syndicate

London | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Ready for your next step in the Lloyd’s market?

I’m working with a growing insurance and reinsurance business with operations across the London Market, Ireland, and internationally. They are now looking for an ambitious Financial Controller to take ownership of their UK finance function and play a key role in the continued growth of their London business whilst managing the team and developing.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply managing the numbers. You’ll have broad exposure across a Lloyd’s syndicate, corporate member, and UK service company, with significant autonomy and a genuine pathway towards senior leadership.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the senior finance leader, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the UK finance function and lead a growing team.

What you'll be doing

Lloyd’s Reporting

  • Take ownership of the finance function for the company's own syndicate.
  • Manage and consolidate data across approximately 30 individual programmes.
  • Oversee key Lloyd’s reporting requirements, including QMRs and SPFs.
  • Work closely with underwriting and wider business stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
