Finatal is partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed software business looking to appoint a commercially minded Financial Controller as it enters the next phase of its growth journey.

With a global customer base, recurring revenue model and an active value creation agenda, the business is investing heavily in its finance function ahead of a planned exit over the coming years. Working directly for an experienced CFO, this role offers significant exposure to finance transformation, systems optimisation, board reporting and strategic decision-making.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all financial accounting activities across the Group
  • Owning month-end, year-end and statutory reporting processes
  • Managing the external audit process and all stakeholder relationships
  • Developing and enhancing financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks
  • Driving the continued optimisation of NetSuite and wider finance systems
  • Delivering automation initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability
  • Ensuring clean, reliable and actionable financial data across the organisation
  • Partnering with senior business leaders to support strategic decision-making
  • Producing high-quality reporting and insight for the Board, Executive Team and Private Equity investors
  • Supporting the Group CFO and investment team with the wider value creation plan
  • Leading finance transformation initiatives ahead of a future exit process
  • Working closely with the FP&A function to provide a unified finance business partnering approach
  • Acting as a strategic influencer and trusted advisor across the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
