Financial Controller | circa £80k | Fleet, Hampshire | Full time on site.

I’m working with a growing, multi entity business based in Fleet to find an experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance function.

This is a genuinely broad role. You’ll lead a small team of around four, own the financial control environment across two businesses, and become a trusted partner to the Managing Directors and senior leadership team, not just report the numbers, but help shape decisions with them.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and developing a finance team of around four
  • Overseeing accurate, timely monthly management accounts
  • Providing meaningful analysis and insight to senior stakeholders
  • Strengthening and continually improving financial controls and processes
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Driving process and systems improvements as the business scales
  • Working within a wider group reporting structure

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience operating at Financial Controller level, ideally managing a team rather than working solo
  • Strong, current financial control and management accounting knowledge
  • Commercial awareness, comfortable challenging constructively and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience improving processes, controls or systems in a growing or complex environment
  • Background in healthcare, compliance, consulting or project based organisations would be particularly welcome, though the business is flexible on sector for the right candidate
