Your reason for being here…

You own the numbers that look backward and the controls that make them trustworthy. Reporting to the Financial Director, you sit on the Senior Management Team and you own this area of finance: month-end, tight daily cash control, clean reconciliations, and audits we smash because everything is where it should be. You lead and develop the transactional team, drive efficiency into every process, and build the disciplines in cash, FX and tax that make the business more resilient.

The way you roll…

You're an organised, hands-on leader who sets the standard and then holds the line on it. You care about getting things right, you're calm when month-end gets busy, and you bring people with you rather than just telling them what to do. You're always looking for the better, simpler way to do things.

How you make it all possible…

  • Own month-end close across the group, holding the timetable and driving the team to hit it.
  • Support our Treasury function with daily cash control, building reserves deliberately through challenging operating margins and expenses, and staying efficient with FX, tax and cash.
  • Own ERP reconciliations and the monthly balance-back to the sales reports across the Group.
  • Lead, manage and develop the management accounting team, setting clear ownership and time standards, maintaining healthy performance practices.
  • Deliver monthly management reporting against budget across the UK entities and subsidiaries.
  • Own technical accounting, policies and consistency of treatment, keeping the numbers robust and defensible.
  • Drive finance systems and process improvement, automating consolidation and routine reporting and using AI wherever it can add value and streamline, with a clear eye on efficiencies that remove manual load and cost.
  • Support Board reporting and governance, and own statutory filings and company secretarial matters.
  • Manage corporation tax estimates and QIP payments, R&D claims coordination and insurance renewals alongside the advisers.
  • Support external audit, covenant compliance monitoring, the fixed asset register, UK payroll oversight and the HR interface.
  • Own process documentation and the controls manual so the finance function runs to a clear standard.
  • Manage the accountancy firm relationship within a fee budget, bringing routine technical work in-house over time so advisers are for opinions and peaks, not the day job.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
